The Devil’s Hole Horst Prospect
Exploration opportunity within a mature North Sea basin.
Overview — Corporate Perspective
North Sea Natural Resources holds 100 % interest in the P2321 licence covering the Devil’s Hole Horst area on the Mid North Sea High. The prospect has been evaluated through reinterpretation of legacy wells and extensive seismic data, indicating multiple reservoir targets within Jurassic and Permian stratigraphy. Legacy drilling encountered evidence of hydrocarbons in Permian Zechstein formations, supporting the presence of a working petroleum system.
The prospect lies within an established hydrocarbon province of the UK Continental Shelf and benefits from extensive 2D seismic coverage, well data, and regional analogues. Multiple stacked structural and stratigraphic targets have been identified across Jurassic sands and Zechstein dolomites, reflecting the complex subsurface geology of the Mid North Sea High. Integrated interpretation underpins ongoing evaluation and risk assessment.
Work Programme & Next Steps
NSNR continues to progress the prospect through staged technical work. Planned activities focus on data acquisition, reinterpretation, and de-risking to enable informed decision-making on future appraisal or drilling. Work is aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
Independent technical reviews by recognised consultants (e.g., Gaffney, Cline & Associates) have assessed resource potential and subsurface interpretations in accordance with industry standards, supporting the identification and classification of prospective targets.
Like all exploration opportunities, prospects carry geological, technical and execution risks. NSNR’s evaluation emphasises structured risk assessment through data integration, regional analogues, and staged appraisal frameworks. Identification of leads and interpretation refinement are ongoing and inform decision gates for future activities.
